Amy & Ben's Wedding

Amy and Ben were my first ever Tinder wedding…they both swiped right and the rest was history. And between the time I first met them to when I saw them again for their engagement photos, they had made a beautiful baby, Brax.

The Crowne Plaza is in a central location in the Hunter Valley with lots of accommodation for bridal party and guests, and was only a couple of minutes drive to Peterson House. Because we wanted to have photos of young Brax with the girls as well as the boys getting ready, the bride was ready in plenty of time, so we got to have some fun with photos of chilling out. It was an unusually cool day for September, so our attempt to venture outside for some photos had us turning a little too blue to be flattering.

Amy, being the organiser she is, made sure we arrived on time, and though cold, the sun and blue skies made for a beautiful back drop to the outdoor ceremony. The grounds at Peterson House are lovely, so we stayed on site for the rest of the day. Without daylight savings we had to make the most of the light we had, so we grabbed some quick family photos and set off around the property. Amy and Ben had fallen in love with Peterson House, they said as soon as they saw it they knew it was the perfect place for their wedding. So we made sure the house itself featured in our photos.

Glad to be back inside where it was warm, there were plenty of Tinder jokes amidst the speeches, cuddles with a tired Brax, and the shoe game where they agreed more than any other couple I’ve ever seen! My favourite part of the evening is always when everyone cuts loose on the dance floor and the beauty of Peterson House is the mezzanine level where I can sneak up for some great shots from above.

I loved seeing the community of friends and family that were not only a big support Amy and Ben, but were a tribe of care and extended family for little Brax as well. Congrats you guys on such a beautiful day, and I hope to see you again as your little family grows x

Sarah is an amazing person and photographer. We first met Sarah when she photographed my brothers wedding a few years ago and loved their photos. So when we got engaged I knew who I wanted for my photographer. We booked her in and organised our engagement shoot that same year. Both of us are not photo people and it was a bit awkward to begin with but Sarah made us feel relaxed and the photos were beautiful. We finally got married in May this year , after an extra year of waiting thanks to covid, and on the day Sarah was super helpful and a very calming presence.
